About Me

Born and raised in Oregon, my love for photography goes all the way back to my childhood and the absolute magic of disposable cameras. I remember going with my mom to pick up developed film from the Walmart photo center and I can remember it feeling just like a field trip. The spark that brought me back, though, actually ignited in late 2022. My iPhone camera couldn't capture the level of detail that I wanted anymore, and I was very lucky to inherit some older DSLR gear from my grandfather, who had been interested in the craft himself.

Once I had his old Canon Rebel T2i, I swear it never left my side. I was constantly experimenting and I fell hard for sweeping landscapes, elusive wildlife, and satisfying compositional choices that were able to live beyond genre alone. Over time, and with encouragement from friends and family, I opened an Instagram account and stepped out into the art world where I would first showcase my work at the 75th Salem Art Fair and Festival in 2024.

When I'm not doing photography or working my day job, I fill my time with creative writing, playing music, and traveling. Photography is a safe space, though, and even on the days when it actively tests my patience, I still find it meditative. I have learned to take risks, embrace chance, and explore outside of my comfort zone.

Honestly, though, the absolute best part has never changed. Nothing beats the moment when I see my shot on the monitor and sit there completely flabbergasted that I was actually the person who took it. At its core, my work is about capturing perspective and connecting with the world in brighter, more intentional ways. It's an ongoing adventure full of trial, error, and constant discovery, and I'm so thankful to be able to share my perspective with you.
